To the 11/4/98 CQE refresher class,
The F-test example in the primer was right. It is a two sided test so you use the F-table for alpha=.05/2=.025.
I was confused because there is another two-sided F-test where you do not use the alpha/2 table. It is the F-test in analysis of variance. The hypothesis two sided for the equality means, but you don't use the alpha/2 table.
