Greetings Lisa,

To start, would you please explain some more about the objective. What do you mean by "from one piece of hardware to another piece of hardware"? How does this relate to logistics? What do you mean by "concentrate on the ... actual inventory."?

Could this be a task for "discovery" sampling -- where you use a sample size that assures, with specified risk of a false negative, that there are no more than x% of a certain category in the population. If this is the objective, you could use the confidence limit feature of TP105 to develop the sampling plan.
