I have a book called "Handbook of Sampling for Auditing and Accounting" by Herbert Arkin, which has practical coverage of stratified sampling.

Would you please explain more specifically about what you are doing?

1. Is there a simple way of calculating sample size for each strata?

What is the nature of the strata? On what basis did you assign facility to a strata?

2. Can I add the error rate for each strata together and get an overall sample error rate?

Are you dealing with attributes or variables data: fraction of items, total "defects" within strata, average per strata, sum within strata, etc.?

3) Do the strata differ in size (facilities/strata)?
