Two kinds of sampling plans to consider are 1) acceptance sampling based on decision rules that have oc curves to describe their properties, or 2)estimation plans based on the margin of error that you want to achieve. The smaller the margin of error, the larger the sample size.

Our Audit Sample Planner (ASP) software program enables you to develop a sample size for attribute data (each item is good or defective) based on the margin of error.

It also will generate lists of random sample numbers and print them on a data sheet or export them for use with a spreadsheet.

ASP also calculates a confidence limit report from the sample. You can choose the percent confidence - usually 95%.

There is a brief writeup on ASP at: www.samplingplans.com/programasp.htm

If you send me your mailing address, I can send you a more detailed product description. You can either post it here, or send me an email.
