Greetings David,

Each box is a sampled item. You might try to form them in to smaller homogeneous lots based on time sequence, run number, or some other factor that may be related to quality.

Two kinds of attribute sampling plans that you could choose between are:

1) Acceptance sampling -- based on decision rules (n, Ac) that have oc curves to describe their properties. The choice of oc-curves will determine the sample size and acceptance number of the sampling plan. See www.samplingplans.com/usingoccurves.htm

2) Audit Sampling plans -- based on the margin of error that you want your estimate to have. This type of sampling plan does not have an accept/reject rule. The smaller the margin of error, the larger the sample size. See www.samplingplans.com/software.htm

Sincerely, Stan Hilliard
