MIL-STD-105E allows you to pick sampling plans based on AQL. It is easy for someone to pick a sampling plan from MIL-STD-105E without understanding what protection is provided. This is because the AQL value does not guard against acceptance of off-grade lots. This is explained further at www.samplingplans.com/aqlprimer.htm
