We are testing defects. The testing is done as either they pass or they don't. Like if there is a contamination or not, or if there is a scratches or not. Some defect are repaireble others are not.

The movement from "M" to "N" is okay is the AQL is between 0.10 and 2.5%, but what if AQL is between 0.10 and 4.0%. At 4.0% there is an arrow up, does this simply means that this is impossible to specify this?

Is it only possible to reduce the sample size if the defects are measured as numerical size and contineus of nature?

In which cases can the samples size be reduced and how is this done?
