Thanks for recommending the books you offered. I ordered two of the three suggested through my company.

Thoughts on the following are welcomed.

I am setting up a quality assurance inspection "gate" on our process, which already has 100% attribute inspection.

Errors are still getting through to our clients, hence the QA gate.

My first question is how do I determine the AQL (process average)?

We have sampled 1% of our finished product and came up with a 4% defective.

However, I believe this is more of an AOQ result than an AQL.

We have no agreement between client and ourselves, hence, our targets are purely self determined.

How do I determine the appropriate AQL or should it be LTPD.

To meet an outgoing quality level we've set of 1/1000 (0.1%)?

Need to determine sample plan to meet these objectives.

Here are the parameters: Our average lot size is 60 units. we want a smpling plan that will maintain an AOQ of 0.1% or 1/1000.

Any help is appreciated... We're new to this type of SPC therefore assistance is required to point in the right direction..

Thanks LL.
