To investigate other possible techniques, here are some questions that I can think of that can influence the choice of type of sampling plan:
What are the items being sampled?
How do you define a lot? What is the action for lots that do not pass the sampling plan?
What are the quality characteristics? Are they measurements or necessarily attributes?
What is the typical process proportion defective?
Do you have a specified RQL?
If you post some of this information I will try to make suggestions.
