Hi Pat,

TP105 uses the binomial distribution directly - not the normal approximation to the binomial.

The binomial is the exact distribution for sampling by attributes.

This method of calculation in TP105 duplicates the binomial nomograph which was first published as "A Nomograph of the Cumulative Binomial Distribution", by Harry R. Larson, Industrial Quality Control, Dec. 1966.

If you want a nomograph so that you can get binomial confidence limits manually, email me your fax number and I will fax you one.

By the way, version 3 of TP105 will be ready to ship in a few weeks. (I skipped from version 1 to version 3. Well, actually, I did develop a version 2, but I did not commercialize it -- I just went on to a new/better design.)
