We mfg various military ground support equipment. I'm using QAP EQ001 sample plan; I just selected it for lack of any other information back when we became ISO certified in 1999. I have seperated product characteristics into "major, minor and critical" for Mfg. Our lot sizes vary from 1-25 pcs in most production lots except some common parts are up to 300 pcs. The current sample plan is dufficult for mfg. to interpret. Our engineering drawings do not tie in w/ the sample plan characteristics, so mfg has to consult the sample plan procedure each part. f anyone has a better idea on what sample plan I should be using, please advise. We have done well reducing internal rework and returns are less than .05% of sales, but I am not comfortable with our sample plan procedure. Thanks.
