it's my first time to post a message here.pls help me solve for the sample size. the problem is as follows. no allowable error was given so I find it hard to compute the neede sample size... pls... thanks!
problem:
The college population of XYZ University is 27,000, 37% of which is CBAA. CBAA has four major fields of studies, namely: Accounting, Banking and Finance, Economics and Entrepreneurship comprising 30%, 15%, 20% and 35% of CBAA students, respectively. In all major fields of studies, the ratio of male to female is 1:4. A study on the performance of 4th year CBAA students will be conducted to benchmark with other schools. Fourth year students in all field of studies under CBAA comprise 25%.
At 5% level of significance, compute for the sample size. Distribute the sample size according to students’ major field of study and sex.
